Mine medical reviews are usually conducted in the surgery, but can be performed onsite by special appointment.
Generally these reviews consist of one or several of the following: -
Audiograms (hearing tests)
Spirometry (breathing – blowing assessment)
Follow-up Blood Pressure,
Cardiographs ECG’s or
EST – an exercise stress test
Pathology results (usually for Cholesterol or HBA1c from treating GP’s or Specialists
Medical reports from treating GP’s or Specialists regarding existing medical conditions.
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) may be required if the worker has current or previous injury – either a “modified” FCE for one area (e.g. back or knee), or “full” – all physical aspects associated with job description. This is performed by an OT (Occupational Therapist) or a Physiotherapist and can be arranged by our surgery, or by the firm / client.
All reports must then be sent to the NMA for review.
